Refund Policy

Last updated 23 October 2026

This policy explains when you are entitled to a refund for tickets bought on Functioneer, how much is refunded and how the money gets back to you. When an order can be cancelled is set out in our Cancellation Policy.

  1. 1. When you get a refund

    • The event is cancelled. You are refunded automatically.
    • The event is postponed or significantly changed and you ask for a refund within 7 days of the change being announced.
    • You were charged more than once for the same order, or charged for an order that didn't go through.
    • Your tickets weren't delivered and we can't deliver them before the event.
    • The organiser agrees to a refund you asked for (see our Cancellation Policy).
  2. 2. When tickets are not refundable

    • You changed your mind or can no longer attend.
    • You arrived late or missed the event.
    • You were refused entry or removed for breaking the venue's rules or the law.
    • Your ticket was lost or shared and someone else used it first. (We can always send your tickets again; see our Delivery Policy.)
  3. 3. How much is refunded

A refund is for the full amount you paid for the order. Functioneer doesn't charge customers a booking fee, so nothing is held back.

  4. 4. How you receive the money

    • Refunds go back to the payment method you used, through PayFast.
    • Card payments are refunded to the same card. Banks usually show the money within 5 to 10 working days of the refund being processed.
    • Payments by instant EFT or other methods that can't be reversed to a card are refunded by bank transfer. We will ask you for the account holder's name and the bank account details to pay into.
    • You receive an email from us when your refund is processed, and PayFast may email you too.
  5. 5. How long it takes

We process refunds within 7 working days of an event being cancelled or a refund being approved. The time your bank then takes to show the money is outside our control.

  6. 6. After a refund

Refunded tickets are cancelled straight away and can no longer be used to get in.

  7. 7. Free tickets

Free tickets have nothing to refund. If a free event is cancelled, your free tickets are cancelled and you are told by email.

  8. 8. Asking for a refund or raising a problem

Email us with your order number (it starts with FN) and the reason. We reply within one working day. If you are unhappy with the outcome, tell us and we will review it.
